This translates to a very secluded life style, neighbors out of sight, without isolation. From the pictures you may observe this property sits well above the road yet the driveway offers a gentle, accessible slope for ease of entry/exit in all weather. What the picture cannot indicate that our lot, formally known as Lot#5, sits at the highest peak level available from Hawthorne Hill's 13 lots.

Why Should this matter to you?

Take for example the advantage of any property located above the road. All run-off water coursing through the side roads (from rain and snow and the resulting waste wash-off from nearby septic tanks or toxic chemicals) are drained off to the path of least resistance - from the property to the road then carried away anywhere down slope. I learned this lesson the hard way from a previously owned property that not even properly engineered ditches and drainages can protect a downslope property (from access road) of unwanted drainage invasion because of improperly engineered drains, floods and "seepage". However, the more valuable advantage this property offers against unwanted drainage from neighboring waste run-off is the fact that it sits at the highest possible elevation: There's no higher situated property from which to be concerned with unwanted waste wash-off. Once you experience a strong whiff of septic tank odor, coursing between your leg, from rain water rushing through from neighboring land you'll know exactly what I am talking about.

You may have noticed the absence of overhead utility wires, anywhere on Hawthorne Hill Rd. and property lots, because everything is buried and routed underground. The concrete foundation's physical parameter is 25ft by 40ft. Originally we were going to build a large garage with a working studio shop. Later, we revised the plan to include a second level living quarters above the garage/studio shop. This required that we abandon the rafters pictured on top of the foundation. However along the many changes we put a halt on this project for reasons which will be mentioned further down this page. So we left these rafters here in case the new owners might want to use them. Obviously, these rafters do not offer a second level living quarters if you choose to save by using these.
